Position Description
In this role, you will be responsible for the programming, installation, commissioning, diagnosing, and repair of environmental-control systems, utilizing knowledge of electronics, direct digital control, airflow, hydronics, refrigeration theory, control and mechanical techniques.
Essential Job Functions
Communicate with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff.
Ensure compliance with internal contracting processes.
Responsible for maintaining project labor budget to forecasted labor budget, expected to identify and communicate issues as they occur.
Communicate effectively in visual, oral and written form.
Promote collaboration, partnerships and positive relationships among the project team.

Responsible for creating & downloading programming, starting up, commissioning, and troubleshooting on assigned projects.
Represents the company by serving as the direct customer contact and is responsible for control start-up of equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer's location.
Coordinates with PM, PE, and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site programming, installation, and repairs by extensively examining building layouts, forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work.
Uses cutting edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
Continually enforces safety to the highest standards.
Organizes and complies with all pertinent documentation needed on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to successfully manage the businesses required reports.
Independently manages daily business needs by identifying parts to order for repairs and determines the urgency of the requirement.
Keeps current on AS3, Inc., vendor control products concerning programming, installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital controls and HVAC mechanical systems.
Displays team effort and dedication to customer by maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weekends, as the business requires.
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Construction Management with a minimum of five years of experience or seven years of experience in the building automation, mechanical, or electrical contracting or related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong knowledge of building automation and HVAC systems are required.
Data center and clean room experience a plus.
Must possess the communication skills and level of literacy, scientific knowledge and mathematical skills commensurate with the completion of higher level education.
Must have a general working knowledge of basic engineering, electricity, mechanical HVAC systems and the building construction industry.
Must be proficient with a Digital Multi-meter and comfortable working around high/low voltage electrical systems safely.
Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills.
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team-focused environment.
Ability to effectively handle pressure, time deadlines, and audience variables.
Demonstrated self-starter and self-finisher.
Intermediate to advanced level computer skills.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, required.
Experience with Trane products such as Tracer Summit, Rover, and unit controls a plus.
Experience with Tridium products such as Lynxspring/ Building Logix. (Tridium Certification Required)
Experience with I.S. technologies, networks (LAN/WAN).
Physical Requirements
Ability to effectively communicate with others both written and orally, including the telephone. Mobility within the work facility. Ability to independently travel domestic and internationally. 75% Travel. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
