Position:
Insurance Benefit Coordinator Key
Responsibilities:
Insurance Verification:
Verify patients' insurance coverage and benefits accurately and in a timely manner.
Navigate various insurance portals and databases to obtain up-to-date information.
Understand the Hearing Doctors' patient process to integrate into the administrative and provider workflow with timely and accurate information.
Billing and Claims Processing:
Process insurance claims promptly, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Address any billing discrepancies and resubmit claims as necessary.
Monitor and track the status of outstanding claims.
Patient Advocacy:
Communicate with insurance providers to resolve coverage issues and facilitate pre-authorizations.
Educate patients on their insurance benefits and financial responsibilities.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
Maintain detailed and accurate records of insurance verifications, claims, and billing activities.
Provide regular reports to management regarding the status of insurance-related matters.
Reconcile insurance payments into patient accounts and follow up with invoices or refunds as needed.
Collaboration with Administrative Team:
Work closely with the administrative team to ensure a seamless patient experience.
Provide support and training to colleagues on insurance-related processes.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance benefit verification and billing.
Previous experience in a related field, such as healthcare administration or audiology practice, is highly preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Proficient in navigating insurance portals and databases.
Strong understanding of medical billing codes, terminology, and claim submission processes.
Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to explain insurance-related matters to patients in a clear and empathetic manner.
Detail-Oriented:
Meticulous attention to detail in verifying insurance information and processing claims.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

The right candidate will be able to work in a dynamic setting and will be able to complete basic functions of supporting the front desk patient care coordinators in patient facing care as needed as part of the administrative staff.
