Assist the store team in meeting sales and production goals by providing work supervision and participating in daily work assignments.
Collaborate with store management team to interview and onboard new employees.
Train employees, coach their work performance, and provide performance feedback to increase their skills and knowledge.
Operate cash register, prepare cash register reports, oversee employee purchases, drive customer round-up transactions.
Greet and assist customers who are donating or shopping while providing excellent customer service and educating customers on our mission.
Assist Store Manager in analyzing store production, sales, and expenses to understand key performance indicators.
Price and merchandise donated goods to drive revenue for our mission.
Perform cleaning activities and direct employees in cleaning and organizing all work areas.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal candidates will be:
Experienced in successfully coaching and training employees.
Able to work independently and be flexible; adapt to change.
Organized, detail oriented, and skilled in time management.
Able to proficiently run a cash register and perform basic math.
Proficient in Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Operate wheeled carts and clothing racks, pallet jacks, potential forklift operation dependent on work location.
Be able to pass a criminal background check and dependent adult and child abuse background check.
What you'll need:
High school diploma or its equivalent.
A minimum of 12 months of related full-time paid employment, including at least 6 months of supervisory experience, or a minimum of 1 year of full-time employment at a Goodwill of Central Iowa retail store.
Access to reliable transportation for regular participation in work and possess valid Iowa Driver's License, a good driving record, insurable, and able to provide proof of personal vehicle insurance with a minimum of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident auto insurance liability coverage.
Able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to carry, lift, push or pull 20 pounds frequently.
Ability to carry, lift, push or pull up to 40 pounds occasionally.
Ability to tolerate variations in work environment temperature.
Ability to stand and remain physically active for long periods of time.
