The primary responsibility a Security Technician is to handle tasks related to the installation and servicing of alarm, camera, and access control security systems.
Astra offers on the job training, and while prior experience is not mandatory, it will be considered in hiring decisions and determining starting pay.

Essential Functions:
Install, program, maintain, inspect, or repair alarm security systems, automation devices, CCTV systems, and access control systems following Astra Standards and Processes.
Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, or video cameras, and attach electrical and telephone wiring to connect components.
Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, or cavity walls to reach fixture outlets, positing and terminating cables, wires, or strapping.
Demonstrate and train system functions and operations professionally to customers Provide high quality, reliable, and knowledgeable customer service tech support Keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to the job.
Organize and utilize technical resources, information, materials, and support personnel; to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable execution of assigned tasks.
Keep company vehicle clean and organized and maintain appropriate inventory Participate in community service, team building, and marketing events sponsored by Astra.
Assist other departments and complete other tasks to help achieve Astra's Mission, Vision, and Values Position requires technician to participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
Technician would be available to answer client calls after normal working hours and on weekend/holidays depending on the rotation order.
Typical hours are M-F 7am - 5pm, with finish times varying by day.

Strong communication skills, attention to detail, follow through, and strong work ethic.
Possess a valid state driver's license without restrictions.
High school diploma or GED.
Willingness and ability to be a team player.
Basic computer, tablet, smartphone, and typing skills Ability to work with minimal supervision Must complete and submit all required paperwork and documentation in timely manner Ability to proctor, coach, and teach others Ability to pass a state and federal background check Willingness and ability to take courses to be certified and licensed to install and service security systems.

Required to safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Required to safely stand; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; reach with hands and arms.
Will frequently be required to walk, sit, and use hands to pull cables and wires, use power tools, use hand tools, work in various positions, climb ladders and/or scaffolding, and climb/navigate through attics and crawl spaces.
Requires vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud on occasion Will be exposed to outside weather elements.
Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and night) for extended time periods Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with on call availability and must be able to travel on short notice.
