PDI has an immediate opportunity for aProcurement Buyer II. The Procurement Buyer II is responsible for proper replenishment of assigned products. The following partial job description explains this full-time salaried position.
Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines.
Responsible for proper replenishment of assigned products.Item mix consists of replenishment class items.Under direct supervision with the focus on learning and gaining proficiency in replenishment.
Maintains theoretical inventory as indicated by DPR taking into account that some items deviate due to special buys and seasonality.
Works to develop proficiency in determining and maintaining proper fill rate while avoiding short code for each individual item.Factors such as customer needs, seasonality and standard deviation percent will properly be taken into account.
Constantly monitors slow moving items and makes recommendations to management for corrective action.
Under direct supervision while learning to place forward buys taking into account shelf life of the product, storage and delivery operational constraints.
Maintains history exceptions prior to order being placed with vendor preferably at the beginning of each weekly period.
Places vendor orders in a timely manner taking into consideration vendor production schedules.
Performs Vendor Order Frequency Simulation on DPR to maximize efficiencies and profit margins on a minimum of 6-month basis or as the vendor line dramatically changes.
Works to obtain proficiency in DPR software and AS 400 navigation. Continues to progress in learning and understanding of system functions.
Assists in tracking late deliveries and resolving vendor shortages.
Participates in weekly Sales and Purchasing meetings.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQURIED TO PERFORM JOB:Good replenishment and procurement skills or will train. Good computer skills and spreadsheet abilities. Good understanding in mathematics and/or statistics. Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate information. Good problem solving and attention to detail. This position is sedentary to light in nature according to the Department of Labor Weight Classifications with primary functions being sedentary in nature. This is considered a skilled position with frequent to constant handling, grasping of paper, listening, talking, hearing, finger dexterity in 10-key adding and use of computer, and full reaching motions occur.
WORKING CONDITIONS:Office environment (climate controlled). Professional business attire. May be required to work in busy, noisy warehouse environment (refrigerated temperatures varying from 35 to -8 degrees and ambient dry warehouse conditions) with interaction with powered industrial equipment.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High school education or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in statistics, business, and math preferred. Procurement experience preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
