Page 1 JOB OPPORTUNITY FULL-TIME CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE HOURS: Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. PDI, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hy-Vee, has an immediate opportunity for a Full-Time Customer Service Representative position. The following partial job description explains this full-time position. PRIMARY
Responsibilities: 1. Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines. 2. Contacts assigned customers and sells product by scheduled time. Reviews order and suggests substitutions for out of stock products. Verifies orders for accuracy, checks ship date, price and issues credits as needed. 3. Promotes sales of shocker and holiday items, managers meeting deals and other sales opportunities. 4. Educates customers on technology available to assist in ordering (I-voice, direct connect, click-n-send). 5. Answers immediate customer service and hot line calls. 6. Sell and manage short code list daily. 7. Performs customer service. Researches customers questions and concerns, addresses problems and follows up with customer in a timely manner. 8. Maintains communication with assigned Customer Consultant and provides assistance as needed. 9. Communicates with Purchasing Department on new products and other customer needs. 10. Communicates with Transportation Department on special drops for unscheduled deliveries and holiday delivery schedule changes. 11. Participates in weekly and departmental sales meetings. SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQURIED TO PERFORM JOB: Excellent telephone etiquette, friendly disposition, and verbal communication skills presenting a positive representation of PDI to inside and outside customers requiring excellent customer service skills. Ability to handle objectives, research and resolve problems, which requires strong organizational, attention to detail and follow through skills. Must be willing to go the extra mile in accommodating the customers in a friendly, helpful manner. Good computer, order entry, office and math skills. This is a semi-skilled position which is sedentary to light in nature according to the Department of Labor Weight Classifications with primary functions being sedentary in nature. Frequent to constant handling of papers, listening, talking, reading, writing, and computer keyboard requiring finger dexterity. WORKING CONDITIONS: Office conditions (climate controlled). Business attire. Busy office. May be required to go across warehouse dock while encountering cold temperatures (35 ) and warehouse conditions. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQURIED TO PERFORM JOB: 1-3 years experience inside sales or related area of products preferred. Retail experience preferred. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB: High school diploma or equivalent required.
